Hello Fall Wonderous Wreath

Today is a very cute card I would like to share with you.  The card uses the Wonderous Wreath stamp set and framelits.  There are three different stamps for the wreath.  Each stamp has a tab at the top of the stamp to help you line up each stamped image after that.  There are also tabs on the top of the wreath framelits to help you line them up with the stamped image before you die cut it in your Big Shot.  I've added gold speckles from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add some sparkle to the card.  The details to make this card are below!  Hope you enjoy making this beautiful fall card!  You can order the stamp sets and more though my Stampin' Up! website.

Ingredients
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Wonderous Wreath, For All Things
Ink: Encore Gold, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Whisper White
Extras: Wonderous Wreath Framelits, Gold twine, Crumb Cake seam binding


Directions:

• On Whisper White cardstock, stamp largest leaved stamp using Crushed Curry ink. Stamp the next leave stamp using Cajun Craze ink. The indicator on the top will help with placement. Follow with the wreath dots using Chocolate Chip ink. Take to the Big Shot and die cut using the inner and the outer edges of the wreath. Stamp the cut out wreath with speckles and Encore Gold ink.

• Tie twine around the Chocolate Chip cardstock three times and secure in the back. Layer this onto the Cajun Craze using dimensionals. Tie the yellow ribbon around the bottom portion of the Cajun Craze cardstock and tie in a bow. Add to your card using adhesive.

• Add the wreath to the front using dimensionals. Stamp the banner using Crushed Curry and then the words using Early Espresso ink. Cut out and add to the front!

• Finish the inside of your card and you are ready to send it in the mail!

Give Thanks Tag Card

Fall is here and it's time to make Thanksgiving cards! Today I'd like to highlight two stamp sets; For All Things and Fun Fest. The card uses our new Under the Tree Specialty Designer series paper. I've added an additional dimension to the pumpkins by using the pumpkin pie marker on the stamp instead of using a stamp pad. This technique adds subtle lines giving the pumpkins more texture. Sponge the edges with Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink complete the look. Add a ribbon and some twine and you've got it made! 

Don't forget to finish the inside!
I tore strips of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock to create the "dirt" for my pumpkin.

Screen Cards

Happy October!  Today I wanted to share with you a couple of screen cards that I've done for my classes. The first is a fall card using the Holiday Stamp Set "For All Things".  It is a great stamp set to use for the fall and for Thanksgiving.  Wouldn't this be fun to set on your table or desk at work?  You can make one too!  The measurements are easy and listed below. 

Instructions:
12 x 12 of a fall color.  I used Always Artichoke, but Old Olive will do too.  The measurements are:  5 1/2" x 12", scored at 3", 6", and 9".  Fan fold the scored lines.  The base is made by the Decorative Label punch, a little above the punches mid line.  Make sure you punch each panel out one at a time so you don't ruin the punch. Cut out your panels, Whisper White or Very Vanilla, and collage them with your favorite stamp set and colors. Then mount the collage panels on a background of Basic Black or Early Espresso. Decorate the panels with embellishments like sequins or the new Autumn Wooden Elements. Attach your panels to your screen and there you have it!

Screen cards also make beautiful Birthday cards, like this one using the Today & Everyday stamp set.

Before the summer comes to an end, here is fun technique card that I know you will love! The card uses the Floating Watercolor Technique.

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Shimmery White

Extras: Rhinestones, White Embossing Powder, Blackberry Bliss re-inker, Petite Petals Punch, Fun Flower Punch, 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch

Salsa Stamper! New things, Changes, and a Reminder

New Boxes for Wood-Mount Stamps:  Introducing our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier!

Starting May 31 all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging (sneak peek sets will also be in the new boxes during the preorder). And empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalog. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets (available May 31). A pack of four half-size cases (3-3/4" x 5-1/2") will sell for $4.95 and a pack of four full-size cases (7-1/2" x 5-1/2") will be $6.95.

Retiring Colors, Returning Colors:  As I blogged earlier, Stampin' Up is retiring ten colors from the color suites (Brights, Subtles, Regals, and Neutrals), and bringing nine colors in to the suites from the In Colors and a new color.  Here is a chart to sort out the changes:

Thursday, January 31:  Valentine Stamp-a-Stack.   A SERP class on KAFB in the Sandia Thunderbird cafeteria (Bldg. 861) where you will create eight cards:  two each of four designs!.  Class time:  4:40pm to 7:15pm.  Class Cost:  $20.00  There is some construction on Wyoming, so it is recommended that you enter through the Eubank gate.  Contact Karen Pulido to reserve a seat for this class:  284-4527.  The flyer is in the Events Documents list on the left.  Hope you can join us!

Salsa Stampers! DIY Time -- Autumn Cards and a Blender Pen Recipe: Tweet Leaves and Gently Falling

Note:  All page numbers refer to the 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog unless otherwise indicated.

This technique is great to use with the Naturals White or Ivory c/s (pg. 160) as it has a heavier weight and will take the water color spritzing well.   

Tweet Leaves Card:

Ingredients: 

Stamps:  Tweet Leaves pg. 31 in Holiday catalog, Lacy and Lovely, pg. 99

Ink:  Early Espresso

C/S:  Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive

Extras:  Woodgrain embossing folder, pg. 33 in Holiday catalog, Autumn Accents die, pg. 33 in Holiday catalog, Oval punch, pg. 184, Circles #2 die, pg. 193,  1 ¾” circle punch, pg. 184

Directions:

·         Fold Daffodil Delight card base and set to one side.  Emboss Soft Suede c/s using the Woodgrain Embossing folder.  Sponge with Crumb Cake ink and layer onto the Daffodil Delight base. 

·         Stamp Tweet Leaves stamp onto already cut out leaf using Early Espresso ink.  Allow to dry and color in.  Stamp another image onto the Very Vanilla c/s and punch out the bird using the 1 ¾” circle punch.  Color in the bird and layer onto the larger Daffodil Delight circle.  Layer onto the leaf using dimensionals. 

·         Take the Crumb Cake piece to the Big Shot and die cut the oak leaf.  I’ve done the rest of the leaves for you.

·         Take each leaf and crunch up, then lightly sponge over the crunched areas with Crumb Cake ink. 

·         Attach leaves to the card using adhesive.  Attach the Tweet Bird image using dimensionals.

·         Stamp and punch out sentiment using Oval Punch.  Add to your card using dimensionals and you are done!

Gently Falling Cards:

Ingredients: 

Stamps:  Gently Falling, pg. 86,  Blooming with Kindness, pg. 87,

Ink:  Chocolate Chip

Markers:  Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi 

C/S: Naturals White, pg. 160

Extras: Naturals Designer Button pg. 176, linen thread ,pg. 173, Stamp-a-ma-jig, pg.7, Color Spritzer Tool,  pg.179, Stampin' Spritzer, pg. 179

Directions:

·         Apply markers on the solid leaf image using 3-4 markers in various shades of autumn colors. Spritz just a little with a fine mist of water.  Stamp onto the surface of your paper and allow to dry.  Do this technique again and stamp another leaf onto your card with the stems crossing. 

·         Using Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp line design over the previous image using Chocolate Chip ink.

·         Spritz with Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red markers and Color Spritzer Tool

·         Stamp sentiment on the front and inside.

DIY: Butterfly Card, Fabric Pin, and Birthday Box

 Lacy and Lovely Butterfly Cards:

Ingredients: 

Stamp: Lacy and Lovely pg. 99

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party

C/S: Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party

 Extras:  Butterfly punch pg. 184, Itty Bitty Shapes flower punch pg. 183, Rhinestones pg. 175, mini glue dots pg. 171

Directions:

·         On Whisper White c/s stamp largest Lacy circle using Rich Razzleberry ink.  Stamp the next smaller Lacey stamp just below the first one using Rich Raspberry ink.  Allow to dry a minute and then stamp the smallest flowers on the Whisper White c/s using Pool Party ink.  Stamp Thank you or other sentiment in Rich Razzleberry in to the right of your images.  Set aside to dry.

·         Punch out a Pool Party and a Rich Razzleberry butterfly using the butterfly punch.  Curve the wings.  Add three rhinestones to the center of each of the butterflies. 

·         Punch out two Pool Party flowers and one Rich Razzleberry flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes flower punch.  Add a rhinestone to each center. 

·         Layer the Rich Razzleberry c/s onto your base Pool Party c/s.  Layer the Whisper White c/s onto the Rich Razzleberry c/s.  Add butterflies and flowers to your card using mini glue dots.  Stamp the inside of your card and envelope

Fabric Pin:

Ingredients: 

Extras: Vintage Brads, Different Satin, Velvet and Sheer Fabrics, Circles Die # 2, Big Shot, Candle, Crop a Dile, pin backs, sticky backed felt

Directions:

·         Take 7 – 8 pieces of different types of fabric and die cut using the Circles Die #2.  If the fabric does not cut cleanly, cut the rest of the way around the circle with scissors. Die cut the sticky backed felt using the smaller of the circles on the Circles #2 Die.

·         Light candle and singe the edges of all of the circles.  Add sticky backed felt to the back side of the largest circle and layer the rest of the fabric together and punch a hole in the center using the Crop a Dile.

·         Add brad though all layers of fabric and add pin back.  Put the tines of the brad through the center hole of the pin back and set.   Hope you enjoyed making this beautiful flower pin.

Birthday Box:

Ingredients: 

Stamp:  Daydream Medallions pg. 117, Itty Bitty Banners pg. 134

Ink:  Versamark, Stazon Black 

Fabric:  Essentials Designer Fabric pg. 170, Flirtatious pg. 171

Extras:  Flower Folds Bigz XL, Big Shot, Needle, Thread, Glue Gun, Silicone Craft Pad, page 31 in Holiday Catalog, Bitty Banners framelits pg. 191, glimmer brads pg. 174, Kraft Gift Box, pg. 161

Directions:

·         Cut out 8-10 flowers using the Big Shot, Flower Folds Bigz XL die and fabric of choice.  Fold flowers in half and then quarters.  Take a stitch in the point of the fold with the tread and needle and string all together.  Tie knot in the thread.  Scrunch up the flower moving the fabric petals around until you like it. 

·         Heat up the glue gun.  Place a small dot of glue onto the silicone craft sheet and place your flower on top of the glue.  Hold down a minute until the glue has set.  If you need to glue a spot or two more so that your flower stands up well, do so.  Set aside to cool.

·         Take Kraft box and stamp with circles from the Daydream Medallions onto box using Versamark.  Assemble.  

·         Cut a ribbon from the fabric and tie around the box. 

·         Stamp “Happy Birthday” and “For You” from the Itty Bitty Banners using StazOn ink.  Cut out using the Bitty Banners framelits and the Big Shot.  Attach together and add glimmer brad.  Attach to your package and you are done!
