Graduations!

After a long hiatus, I'm back!!

Today, I wanted to show you a graduation card I received in a swap!  Isn't it really cool?  The inside is great too.  Below are general instructions on how to make this card.  Hope you will try it and make one for that graduate in your family.  Happy Stamping! Kathy

Graduation Card 2014

Supplies:

Stamps
     Memorable Moments
     Pomp & Circumstance

Ink
     StazOn Black

Cardstock
     Basic Black
     Whisper White
     Silver Glimmer paper

                     Extras
 Candy Dot brads
 Candy Dot
 Fringe Scissors
 White Baker’s Twine
 Star punch
Stampin’ Score with the diagonal plate
 Mini glue dots
 Adhesive
 Dimensionals

Instructions:

Cut Basic Black cardstock 4 ¼” x 11” and score at 5 ½”.  Lay the cardstock on the Stampin’ Score diagonal plate and score diagonally at 3 3/8”.  Score the other side at 3 3/8”.  The picture below shows the black X where you should score.

Line up one end of the scored line at the 3 3/8” mark and score again.  Flip over and score the other side.  The result is a 3” x 3” diamond on one side of your cardstock.  Cut off the remaining area.  The discarded cardstock is shaded in the picture below.

Fold the 5 ½” scored line as a valley fold.  The diagonal lines will be in a mountain fold.  This will create your “cap” on the front of your card.

For your inside Whisper White cardstock piece, cut your Whisper White cardstock 4” x 5 ¼” and score diagonally on the 3 ¼” mark.  Cut off the extra paper outside the scored lines.  It will layer into the center area of your Basic Black cardstock nicely.  Stamp it with the graduation cap using StazOn Black ink.  Add to the inside of your card and lay the “cap” down and stamp the numbers around the cap.  Stamp the congratulations at the bottom of this piece.

The rest of the cardstock that you will need is:

·         1 piece of Basic Black cut at 3” x 3”.  This is the top of the cap.  You will put a hole in the center of this piece and add the Baker’s twine and Candy Dot brad.  Add a black Candy Dot on top.

·         1 piece of Whisper White c/s cut at 2” x 2 ¼”. This piece is used for the tassel.  Cut strips on this piece using the Fringe Scissors, leaving a ¼” area at the top.  Add adhesive at the top and roll up tightly.  Add this to the other end of the Baker’s twine.  Add the completed cap to the top of the c/s base cap using dimensionals.

·         1 piece of 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” Whisper White c/s for the inside top part of the card. Stamp this piece with the “Yay, You!” and the graduation scroll using StazOn Black ink.  Add to the inside top area of your card and you are done!

 Happy Stamping!  Kathy
